Bird & Bird closed the 2025/26 fiscal year with a turnover of €702 million, 4% higher than the €672.6 million recorded the previous year. The firm has thus achieved 34 consecutive years of growth. Net profit increased by 1%, while profit per share (PES) fell by 1.5% to €819,000.
The firm attributes its business growth to its strategic focus on technology, innovation, and regulation, areas where it concentrates a significant portion of its activity and investment, in a context marked by geopolitical tensions and a changing economic environment. During the year, the firm strengthened its structure with lateral additions of partners from other firms and promoted 19 new partners. Bird & Bird currently has more than 1,800 lawyers, over 400 partners, and a staff of more than 3,700 professionals, distributed across 33 offices in 23 countries.
On the strategic front, the firm continues to develop its five-year plan, launched in May 2024, which includes the opening of three new offices—Lisbon, Riyadh, and Tokyo—in the last two years. Regarding artificial intelligence, Bird & Bird has launched an internal training program (Digital Academy), approved a global AI governance policy that regulates confidentiality, data management, and human oversight, and continues to develop its own tools such as the Green Claims AI Scanner, designed to review regulatory compliance in environmental communications.
Christian Bartsch, CEO of Bird & Bird, stated that “our ambition remains clear: to consolidate our position as the leading international law firm for supporting organizations in an environment defined by technology, innovation, and regulation. To achieve this, we continue to invest in the areas where we identify the greatest long-term growth opportunities: our talent and platform, innovative legal technology, and strong, lasting relationships with our clients. Our deep expertise in intellectual property, technology, data, and regulatory matters continues to differentiate us and positions us as a leader in constantly evolving fields.”
