Bird & Bird Spain reaches a new milestone in the Chambers Europe Legal Guide 2026. The firm, led by Coral Yáñez, received a total of 30 awards in this edition, with Intellectual Property and Corporate/M&A: Mid-Market standing out in Band 1.

Litigation: Highly Regarded and Employment: Highly Regarded are the practices that stand out in Band 2, while Insurance, TMT: Data Protection, TMT: Information Technology and Life Sciences: Patent Litigation do the same in Band 3.

Other areas that receive recognition from the British directory are Private Equity (Band 4), Private Equity: Venture Capital (Band 5) and Energy & Natural Resources (Band 5).

On an individual level, partners Lourdes Ayala (Corporate) and Luis Alfonso Fernández (Insurance) retain their Band 1 status, a category also achieved this year by Joaquín Muñoz (TMT) and Miguel Pastur (Employment). Manuel Lobato (Intellectual Property), of counsel, also maintains this top distinction, as in previous years.

In Band 2 are partner Pablo Berenguer (Dispute Resolution) and, again, Manuel Lobato, this time for his expertise in Life Sciences: Patent Litigation.

The Intellectual Property team’s performance is also recognized by Antonio Cueto and José Miguel Lissén, both ranked in Band 3 in this practice area. Lissén also excels in Life Sciences: Patent Litigation (Band 3) and Intellectual Property: Patents (Band 4).

Also in Band 4 are partners Virginia Martínez (Insurance), Mariano Santos (Intellectual Property: Trademarks) and Lourdes Ayala (Private Equity: Venture Capital).

Santiago Lardiés (Private Equity) and Conchita Sainz (Real Estate) reach the Band 5 and Band 6 categories, respectively.

Chambers & Partners also welcomes Alberto Rodríguez, Corporate partner, to its Up-and-Coming program, as well as Employment counsel Jorge Sanz. Antonio Ballesteros, Corporate counsel, is once again recognized as an Associate to Watch.

For Coral Yáñez, managing partner of the Madrid office, the results achieved in the Chambers Europe Legal Guide, the best in the history of Bird & Bird Spain, “are recognition of the effort and commitment of a consolidated team, which understands the needs of clients and has the experience and ideal tools to respond with the highest guarantees.”
