Carlos Sotillos, president of BDO Auditores in Spain, commented that “BDO’s solid global results reflect the strength of our firm, as well as our ability to adapt to new market demands. We share the pride of contributing, together with our teams around the world, to a growth trajectory based on excellence, innovation, independence, and the trust of our clients.”
Pat Kramer, Global CEO of BDO, said, “In a challenging and constantly changing global environment, we see great opportunities. During periods of uncertainty, companies seek trust and quality, which are fundamental pillars of our multidisciplinary approach. BDO’s commitment to maintaining its independence and prioritizing sustainability allows us to continue generating secure, long-term value for our clients through a future-oriented organization.”
Independence, investment and integration
In early 2025, BDO announced its decision to remain independent of external capital and communicated a strategic realignment focused on greater global integration and consolidation of its firms to respond to international clients in an increasingly complex environment.
In line with this strategy, BDO UK and BDO Ireland announced merger plans, strengthening their ability to serve the mid-market and expand cross-border consulting services.
As part of this process, Trond-Morten Lindberg has been appointed as the new Global CEO, succeeding Pat Kramer from November 2026.
Global investment in digital transformation
In addition, BDO has outlined a $1 billion global investment program in digital transformation for 2025. Notable initiatives include the incorporation of Microsoft AI tools such as Azure AI and Copilot Agents, analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Foundry IQ, and advanced cybersecurity solutions, consolidating the BDO Digital Audit Suite as a benchmark for efficiency and quality for its more than 40,000 audit and assurance professionals.
The firm has also strengthened its technological capabilities in the tax area to assist global clients in the face of increasing regulatory complexity.
