Ashurst Perkins Coie has announced the appointment of María Antonia de Prada (Nani) as the new counsel in its Real Estate Law department in Madrid. This promotion recognizes her five years of experience with the firm and further strengthens the urban planning and land management practice, in which Nani specializes, providing clients with high-value-added advice on sectoral, environmental, and regulatory matters.
Nani was until now a senior associate in the department and has over fifteen years of experience advising on all aspects of Real Estate and Urban Planning Law, with extensive expertise in projects with ongoing urban development and assets with sectoral/regulatory complexity. She advises national and international funds, financial institutions, and investors on real estate investments, due diligence processes, and the marketing of all types of properties and assets for residential, commercial, industrial, and logistics use, as well as renewable energy projects and data centers.
Within the Real Estate Law department, she provides ongoing advice on the analysis of the urban planning, environmental, and regulatory feasibility of projects, as well as comprehensive ad-hoc advice on transactions. She has also advised private sector clients on the drafting of urban planning instruments and on various administrative proceedings, including sanctioning procedures or those aimed at restoring compliance with urban planning regulations, and on contentious-administrative matters related to urban planning, consumer protection, historical heritage, and the environment.
In the words of Ismael Fernández Antón, managing partner of the Real Estate Law department in Madrid: “Nani’s appointment is a well-deserved recognition of her talent, technical rigor, and commitment to our clients. Her in-depth knowledge of Urban Planning Law is a key asset for our real estate practice, especially at a time of strong activity in sectors such as logistics, renewable energy, and data centers. We are very proud to continue growing with our own talent.”
For his part, Jorge Vázquez Orgaz, managing partner of the firm in Madrid, added that “since joining Ashurst in November 2021, Nani has been a key member of the team. This appointment is, above all, a recognition of the quality of her work, her commitment, and the contribution she has made over these years, as well as the trust she has earned from clients and colleagues. We believe it is an achievement we can all be proud of, and one that reflects the quality of our professionals. It also demonstrates the firm’s ability to foster their development.”
Nani de Prada expressed her satisfaction with the appointment: “It is an honor to assume this new responsibility at Ashurst Perkins Coie. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the firm and my colleagues, and I am very excited about this new stage to continue contributing to the growth of our Real Estate and Planning practice.”
