Afianza has appointed Álvaro Martín as Director of Corporate Legal Advice, who assumes the comprehensive coordination of all the firm’s legal matters, from corporate governance and compliance to data protection, the prevention of money laundering and governance in artificial intelligence, among others.
Álvaro Martín joins Afianza from Grupo Amara NZero, a multinational specializing in energy and logistics with a presence in 10 countries. During his more than two decades with the company, he held various roles, including General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, Data Protection Officer, and Chief Sustainability Officer. His key achievements include leading the corporate insurance program, securing green bond certification for a €270 million issue in accordance with the Green Bond Principles, and designing the group’s global corporate governance and compliance framework, among other accomplishments.
In addition, Álvaro Martín teaches at EAE Business School and has collaborated as a teacher in the Master’s program in Energy Business and Law at Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo and CEU University.
He holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an Executive MBA from Nebrija Business School. He has also completed training in AI Governance at IE Law School and is a Compliance and Ethics Professional certified by the SCCE.

This appointment adds to the recent ones of David Casas as Consulting Director, Guillermo Pérez-Montero as Director of Operations and Business Integrations, and Rafael Vázquez Romero as Corporate General Manager, among others.
Afianza closed 2025 with a turnover of 83.2 million euros, 53% more than the 54.3 million of the previous year, and currently has almost 1,500 professionals in the main areas of the Spanish geography.
