Andersen has added Rafael Salido as a new partner in its Restructuring and Special Situations department. The expert joins the firm with a team comprised of Rocío Novales and José Manuel Vidal, who join as senior associates.
Throughout his 25-year career, the new partner has led numerous financial restructurings and debt transactions, including new money initiatives, alternative financing, and debt buybacks. Rafael Salido possesses extensive expertise in the financial aspects of corporate restructurings, including preventative phases, special situations, and insolvency proceedings, both nationally and internationally.
The addition of Rafael Salido strengthens the Restructuring and Special Situations department by bringing a financial perspective that complements and enriches the team’s legal approach. Upon the arrival of the new partner, Marta Morales, partner and co-head of the Restructuring department, stated that “this represents a boost to consolidate our position as a leading firm in the field of restructuring.”
For his part, Javier Lacleta, partner and co-director of the same department, noted that “his experience in financial restructurings and debt operations will contribute decisively to continuing to offer top-quality advice to our clients, complementing the legal aspect with the financial one.”
The Restructuring and Special Situations department now has 19 professionals and offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Porto, Valencia, Seville, and Malaga. Co-led by partners Javier Lacleta and Marta Morales, it offers comprehensive advice to national and international companies in all scenarios related to solvency, whether from the perspective of buyer, creditor, or debtor. Its main services include legal and financial advice from a preventative perspective, anticipating risk situations, such as crisis strategy development, pre-insolvency planning, negotiation and execution of restructuring plans, securing financing, buying and selling business units, acquiring distressed loans, and managing portfolios of non-performing loans (NPLs).
