King & Spalding has announced that Daniel Nam has joined the firm as a partner in its corporate practice group. Based in New York, he joins from White & Case, where he was also a partner.
“Dan enhances our corporate offering in New York and beyond with his exceptional capital markets expertise, complementing our existing capabilities in this area and our strengths in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and litigation,” said Jonathan Melmed, co-leader of the firm’s corporate practice group. “He is a highly skilled and respected capital markets lawyer who strengthens our ability to execute high-yield debt and other transactions for private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, and further bolsters our already strong Latin America practice.”

Nam advises issuers, financial sponsors and investment banks on public and private financing transactions, including high-yield and investment-grade debt, equity and equity-linked securities offerings, across a broad range of sectors. He also advises on bridge financing commitments, public debt tender offers, exchange and consent solicitations, as well as general corporate and securities matters. He has extensive experience representing both domestic issuers and companies with significant operations in Latin America.
He holds a doctorate in law and a master’s degree in comparative international law from Cornell Law School, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
