Brazilian firm MJ Alves Burle e Viana Advogados announced the addition of João Grognet as a new equity partner, thus strengthening the structure and expanding “our capacity for strategic work, especially in highly complex tax matters.”
With nearly two decades of experience in public debt recovery, liability management, and tax structuring, João Grognet holds a Master’s degree in Tax Law from the University of Lisbon (FDUL). Throughout his career, he has built a strong technical background, held positions of high institutional responsibility, and possessed a deep understanding of the legal mechanisms that shape Brazil’s tax environment.
His experience brings to MJAB a strategic vision on tax governance, tax transactions and risk management, capabilities that are increasingly essential for companies facing structural disputes and complex regulatory scenarios.
The arrival of the new partner reinforces the firm’s positioning in legal advocacy, a concept developed by MJAB that integrates high-level legal excellence, a systemic reading of the regulatory environment, and strategic action aimed at building sustainable legal certainty.
In this context, João Grognet’s contribution strengthens our ability to anticipate risks, structure complex solutions, and conduct tax litigation with a long-term vision.
