The Chilean firm Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has signed Cristina Olavarría as a new partner to lead the energy area starting on February 23, 2026.

She is a lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and has a diploma in Tax Analysis and Planning from the same University; a diploma on Capital Markets and a Diploma in Natural Resource Project Development, both from the University of Chile, with a solid track record in M&A and in corporate legal management specializing in the energy sector and infrastructure projects.
She was part of the firm between 2008 and 2011, working in the mining area. Her appointment marks a significant milestone, as she will be the first woman to lead the Energy practice in the firm’s history, reflecting the firm’s commitment to developing female talent.
Recently, Cristina Olavarría served as Legal Manager at Consorcio Eólico where she led the company’s strategic legal advice, focusing on regulatory, contractual and legal compliance matters within wind energy projects; green hydrogen and other initiatives linked to the energy transition in Chile.
With this strategic addition, Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos strengthens its position in the energy sector, an area that has experienced significant growth in recent years.
