The professional services firm EY Abogados has finalized the appointment of Javier Bustillo and Jaime Aguilar, both formerly of Andersen, as new M&A partners. The new partners are joined by two senior associates from the same firm, Mayo Torres and Santiago López.
Javier Bustillo has an 18-year career, has worked at Ecija and Bustillo Abogados and in multinationals such as Coca-Cola Spain and Xerox Europe, he specializes in M&A and venture capital, as well as advising venture capital funds.
Jaime Aguilar, for his part, has 10 years of experience in corporate law and in different aspects related to mergers and acquisitions, from contract negotiation to business restructuring.
This move comes days after the firm announced changes to its management committee in Spain. At its annual partners’ meeting, Adolfo Zunzunegui was appointed managing partner of EY Abogados, who will retain his current role in Corporate Development and Institutional Relations, replacing Ramón Palacín, who, after seven years, will head the Clients and Markets division.
The firm is committed to growth in commercial and labor law, as well as taking advantage of new growth opportunities in tax law where it is already a benchmark, with a medium-term horizon of between five and six years.
