Intapp (Nasdaq: INTA) will integrate its ethics wall governance and control software, Intapp Walls for AI, with Legora, the two companies announced on August 25. The agreement also connects Legora with Intapp Time, the US firm’s time tracking system.
The alliance covers three fronts. First, all workflows executed in Legora—legal research, contract review, document drafting, due diligence—will be subject to the access controls that each firm has configured in Intapp Walls, so that AI activity respects the information walls and confidentiality obligations already established.
Second, Intapp Time will automatically capture usage data generated in Legora to produce time-tracking entries, without manual intervention from the lawyer. Companies are presenting this feature as a way to reduce unrecorded billable hours.
Third, Legora and Intapp will jointly develop agent workflows that combine the Legora Agent with Celeste, Intapp’s AI assistant for law firm management. An initial version will allow users to invoke Celeste functions from within Legora and vice versa. Neither company has confirmed a release date.
The rollout will be done in phases, without deadlines or commercial conditions specified in the joint announcement.
Max Junestrand, co-founder and CEO of Legora, framed the alliance as stemming from the need for law firms to scale their use of AI without relinquishing the controls their clients already demand. John Hall, president and CEO of Intapp, described the integration as an extension of the trust professionals must ensure regarding any tool that handles sensitive client information, extending it to AI itself.
According to data provided by Legora itself, the platform is used by more than 100,000 legal professionals in more than 1,500 law firms and in-house legal departments, in more than 50 markets.
