José Rivero, the firm's new senior associate, holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences, specializing in Corporate and Banking Law, and has six years of experience as a corporate lawyer. He graduated from the Private University of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA), where he defended his thesis with highest honors. Since 2016, he has developed a solid career at an international law firm, establishing himself as a leading figure thanks to his rigorous training and outstanding performance.
In the corporate sphere, José has experience in the incorporation of commercial companies, the implementation and monitoring of good corporate governance practices, as well as in handling corporate matters in general. He also has extensive experience in due diligence processes for the execution of complex national and international corporate transactions, including mergers, restructurings, investments, dissolutions, and liquidations of companies.
In the commercial area, actively participates in the drafting and review of commercial contracts, especially those with cross-border impact, as well as civil contracts related to rights and obligations.
In the area of financial regulation, José has solid experience in preparing reports, opinions, and regulatory analyses related to financial sector and securities market regulations, aimed at structuring and placing financial products and services. He also has experience in structuring financing and investment transactions.
José also has experience in the area of insurance and reinsurance, where he regularly advises foreign reinsurers on their registration processes and their relationship with the Pensions and Insurance Authority (APS).
His professional excellence has been recognized three (3) times by the British directory The Legal 500, having received his nomination as “Leading Associate” in Banking and Finance, an accolade that underscores his commitment and leadership in the sector. Furthermore, José has recently joined AmCham Junior – the American Chamber of Commerce of Bolivia – as an active member, reflecting both his interest in expanding his professional network and his commitment to the development of the Bolivian business environment.
Finally, and as part of his interest in continuing his academic training, José is in the process of applying to pursue a Master's degree in International Business Law at ESADE – Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain, for the 2026 academic year.
