CMS announces the rollout of Harvey in more than 50 countries

By Heidi Maldonado

CMS announced the global implementation of Harvey, a leading provider of generative AI solutions for the legal sector, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to innovation and the use of advanced technology to deliver high-quality legal services at scale. With this agreement, CMS becomes the firm with the largest number of licenses among law firms in the EMEA region to date.

This new phase will make Harvey available to all 21 CMS member firms in more than 50 countries, giving more than 7,000 lawyers and professionals access to AI-based tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and client service.

Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, said, “We are proud to have CMS as a client and to see their commitment to providing all their lawyers and professionals with access to our AI tools. Their commitment reflects true leadership in innovation and a drive to stay at the forefront of delivering the best work to their clients.

The implementation of Harvey has already demonstrated substantial benefits for CMS and its clients. An internal analysis shows that 93% of users have reported productivity improvements equivalent to more than 117 hours saved per lawyer per year. These gains make it possible to alleviate lower value-added workloads, offer more competitive prices, and maintain profitability.

Jane Challoner, Director of Innovation, Knowledge, and Training at CMS, added, “We focus on innovating to make a real difference for our clients. Deploying Harvey across all CMS offices and integrating generative AI into the core of how we work allows us to amplify the experience and knowledge of our lawyers, so we can focus on what really matters: tackling complex challenges and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

CMS has an ongoing program of analysis and testing of generative AI tools and platforms, in which more than a dozen solutions, including Harvey, have been evaluated to date. With this initiative, CMS reaffirms its leadership in technological innovation applied to the legal sector.
