Breno Bassoli, Matheus Fornazari, Lucilene Prado, and Irina Santarossa left FM/Derraik Advogados to found Prado, Santarossa, a boutique law firm in São Paulo focused on tax law, with additional lines of practice in the non-profit and real estate sectors. The four partners have worked together for over a decade, and this continuity, according to Prado, is the foundation of the firm’s identity: “Law generates value when it becomes a management tool,” she stated.
The firm is particularly targeting foreign companies seeking to enter or expand in the Brazilian market. Santarossa explains that the team’s strength stems from experience in the legal departments of large corporations, auditing, multidisciplinary firms, and boards of directors—a foundation that, he says, “allows us to examine legal issues and their impact on business.”
Fornazari defines the firm’s role in concrete terms: “Our role is to transform complexity into clear direction, with precision, responsibility, and a sense of reality.” Bassoli, for his part, emphasizes the long-term relationship with the client, describing the team as “an independent extension of the client,” close and present in their daily work.
Prado brings over three decades of experience, including her time as legal director of Alpargatas and Natura, as well as her roles as a professor and board member. Santarossa has nearly 20 years of experience in corporate and tax law, with financial training from Insper. Bassoli’s career has focused on tax consulting related to Brazilian tax reform, while Fornazari brings over a decade of experience in tax consulting and litigation, including experience at the Big Four.
