Mirai Investments, a family-owned investment and business development company, has acquired the Basque company Excavaciones Mendiola SA. This strategic integration, along with the recent acquisition of Afesa Medio Ambiente, allows Mirai Investments to position itself as the leading partner for large industries and developers requiring complex technical solutions with environmental guarantees.
Andersen represented Mirai with a team led by Javier Gómez Domínguez, partner in the Corporate/M&A practice. Miguel Pérez, senior associate in the same department, also participated.
In this regard, Javier Gómez Domínguez said that “an operation of this type requires coordinated work with the client to design an acquisition structure that protects their interests and facilitates the immediate integration of the business, without legal frictions that hinder the value of the acquisition.”
Excavaciones Mendiola is a company specializing in excavation, earthmoving, and construction and demolition waste management. In 2025, it had a turnover of €14 million and employs 95 people. With this acquisition, along with that of Afesa Medio Ambiente, Mirai now has two companies with complementary profiles, enabling it to cover the complete lifecycle of industrial, energy, and construction projects throughout Spain.
