This opens up opportunities to completely redesign operations in areas such as human resources, finance, customer service, supply chain, technology, and sales, among others.
The research highlights that the potential impact of this technology is not limited to operational efficiency. Leading organizations are beginning to use agentic AI to accelerate new product development, improve customer and employee experiences, strengthen decision-making, and create entirely new business models.
However, the study also warns that adopting this technology presents significant challenges. Many initiatives fail because companies focus their efforts exclusively on cost reduction, instead of undertaking a comprehensive operational transformation that considers processes, data, corporate governance, organizational culture, and the evolution of human talent.
According to the report, one of the main obstacles is that most current business processes were designed for people, not autonomous systems. As a result, organizations must redefine workflows, modernize their technology platforms, improve data quality, and build new monitoring and control capabilities before scaling the implementation of intelligent agents.

For example, a talent acquisition process can move from relying on isolated activities to becoming an automated operational chain where different intelligent agents collaborate to generate records in human resources, provision technological tools, activate payroll processes, coordinate training and monitor performance, all within the same intelligent architecture.
This approach requires organizations to start thinking less about automating tasks and more about redesigning entire business functions, making agentic AI an enabler of organizational transformation and not simply a technological tool.
